My Newest Adventure!

Hello! So, I have been talking about putting a blog together for awhile and have been too lazy to actually do it. Now, I have a reason to! Most of you know that 2008 was not kind to us as we lost Dad G. on February 7th and then Mom G. on November 7th.

Mom and Dad G.

Well, we are determined to make 2009 a whole hell of a lot better than the last one! So, we have some trips planned and I have also set a new goal that I never thought that I would......I have started training to walk a 1/2 marathon! I have joined Team in Training to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Grandma Vanderlin. She was diagnosed with Leukemia in her mid-eighties and was pretty much told that the treatment for this disease would take her life before the actual disease. So, she was left to let the disease "run it's course." Well, I don't that because of one's age, they should have to just let something "run it's course." I am raising money in the hopes that a less harsh treatment is found that will help our elderly folks who are diagnosed to live out the rest of their lives like they deserve to. So, please help me reach this goal and visit my fundraising page and make a tax deductible donation. Stay tuned as I will keep you posted on my progress as well as our travels over the next year. So far, we are looking at Las Vegas in a few weeks, Seattle in June/July for the Rock N' Roll Marathon and then off to Ferndale, WA for a fun filled Fourth of July jam packed with our own fireworks! Our year will end with a special trip to Holland in December/January 2010 to spend Christmas and New Years with Ed's family and take Mom and Dad G. back home. I am sure we will throw some small trips in there somewhere....we have to make up for lost time! Thanks for checking in and stay tuned.....
