December 29, 2009 - Amsterdam

Today was a relatively laid back day.  We decided that we wanted to hang out in Amsterdam and just walk around with no concrete plans.  We spend an entire day in Amsterdam led by the cousins in 2006 when we were here last, so we didn’t need to see the entire scene, we just wanted to get out of the house and walk around and shop a little.  We drove to Weesp where we took the train into Amsterdam because parking is a pain in the city.  Here we are on the train:

We got to Amsterdam and just walked around and went through some of the shops.  We didn’t tour it extensively like we did last time but it was still fun.  We walked around for awhile and then stopped to eat some yummy Greek food.  Here are some of the choices where we were at:

We didn’t go into any of these places or eat any of these delicacies, but we just observed and smelled it a little.  Ha Ha!

Here I am in front of a church in Amsterdam.....representing the Lumberjacks from afar!

We walked around more and then stopped to have some tea and a treat:

Once it started getting dark, we headed back to the train station as Ed was warned by two different people to try and get on the road before it gets too slippery.  We took the train back to Weesp and headed back to the car to drive home.

Once we got home, we visited for a bit before we headed upstairs.  We were switching where we were staying with Marsha and Bill.  The first half of our trip, we stayed with Theresa and Ewald and family and the second half; we will be staying with Wendy and Erik and their family.
It just started snowing again!

Last trip, we ended up wearing our respective school shirts in London....on accident.

The same thing happened this time:
